Pupils and staff at one Lowestoft-area primary school have joined forces and dressed to impress as part of a national celebration.

As many school pupils and community organisations dressed as characters from their favourite stories on Thursday, March 2, the theme of this year's World Book Day put the emphasis on "making it your World Book Day."

With World Book Day celebrating all that is wonderful about books for more than 25 years ago, there was something extra special at Elm Tree Primary School (Academy).

For every pupil and staff member at the school on Ranworth Avenue in Lowestoft united - as World Book Day became 'Where's Wally Day!'

A school spokesman said: "We all dressed as 'Where’s Wally' characters as we have a school full of Wallies and Wenda's - it's wenda-ful!"

Admitting it was "hilarious" the spokesman added: "Where’s the teacher in the middle of the Wallies?"

It comes as the pupils also "shared their love of books" during assemblies for each year group all this week.
