Big crowds turned out as a coronation concert took centre stage in a prominent park.
The Coronation of King Charles III was celebrated in Lowestoft as hundreds of people turned out in the Sunday sunshine to enjoy music, activities and entertainment in Sparrows Nest Gardens.
With the special event organised by Lowestoft Town Council in collaboration with the local branch of the Royal British Legion, the crowning of the new king was celebrated in style.
Families flocked to the park to enjoy live jazz and swing music, food and charity stalls - which included tombolas and making your own crowns - and as part of the national 'Coronation Big Lunch' campaign, people brought their own picnics to the free event.
Children were also able to try out the new Alice and Wonderland themed play area, which has recently transformed the former park play area with new equipment.
The Super Swing Big Band kicked off the afternoon entertainment with a rousing rendition of 'God Save Our Gracious King'.
Swing singer Ben Carruthers serenaded everyone, before Sam & The SwingTones shone on stage in the sunshine.
After a fanfare from the Waveney Concert Band, a final rendition of the National Anthem finished off the celebrations.
A town council spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone who came along, supported the performers and enjoyed the sunshine!"
Mayor of Lowestoft, Alan Green - who welcomed everyone to the park in an opening address - said: "Its been brilliant.
"We have had a great turnout and there has been a lovely atmosphere with people turning out to come and show their support for the coronation in this perfect setting
"Hopefully they have all enjoyed themselves."
Hailing the support of the council's "hard working staff" and the councillors who all devoted time to ensure "Lowestoft has a celebratory coronation concert," town councillor Sonia Barker added: "This has been superb.
"It is brilliant to see all the youngsters using the new Alice and Wonderlamd themed play area as well."
