A "well established" monthly market is set to unveil a new 'doggy area'.

After launching in Lowestoft in recent weeks, the new East Point Market has brought a wide range of handmade crafts, handcrafted jewellery, local produce and much more to the Coastal Cuisine site.

And with the next market being held on Saturday, June 17, from 9am, at Coastal Cuisine Ltd on Hadenham Road, organisers said "a brand new area" of the markets will be "dedicated to our four-legged friends".

Featuring a range of "doggy-related stalls, supplies and a mobile groomer," market organiser, Michael Fairhurst, said: "The new area is set to be a one-stop-shop for all your canine needs.

"Taking centre stage of the new area will be the Akela Foods exhibition showcasing an extensive range of five star raw, dry and wet pet foods."

With "special guests" also joining this month's launch event, Mr Fairhurst said: "We are excited to be supported by Coastal Cuisine and Akela Properties to add this new area to our other two areas, the produce hall, and outdoor market street.

"As a dog lover I’m thrilled to be able to announce that dogs on leads are welcome at our outdoor market areas.

"As well as being joined each market by on-site caterer Farmhouse Kitchen, we feel our markets are starting to get well established."

After last month's market celebrated the 'Love Your Local Market' campaign – as part of a celebration of the Great British market tradition - this month's market will move from being held on the last Saturday of the month to a new date.

Mr Fairhurst said: "June sees a change of date for this month's market, it will take place on Saturday, June 17 from 9am at Coastal Cuisine Ltd on the south Lowestoft industrial estate.
