A new cafe is opening in a stately home offering a range of plant-based foods made from seasonal ingredients.

Owners, Bekky and Oli met while working at an Odeon cinema in Brighton, and both took on a trail of hospitality jobs before setting their hearts on the cafe at Somerleyton Hall near Lowestoft.

They plan to open on Saturday, June 24 in a greenhouse in the home's gardens, with treats like vegetarian sausage rolls, quiches and cakes on the menu.

Ms Croson said: "We've been in hospitality coming up to 10 years now and we've always wanted to open up our own cafe, it's been a dream of ours for as long as we can remember.

"It's really important to be environmentally friendly and sustainable, we're passionate about showcasing local produce and how great vegetable options can be.

"Hopefully people can get out of their comfort zone and realise that plant-based food can be better than the real thing".

The cafe will be open during garden hours between 11am and 5pm every day from July.
