Police say they are investigating an unexplained death after emergency services were called to help a man in Lowestoft.

The incident happened at around 11.45pm last night (July 8), in Katwijk Way.

A man believed to be aged in his 40s was found collapsed in the street and despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, he died at the scene.

The family of the man has since been informed.

An area of Katwijk Road was cordoned off until 5am while police enquiries were completed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

A file will now be completed for the Coroner.
