Four Suffolk restaurants have been named among the best in the UK to eat at this summer.

The Times' list of the top 49 places to eat in the UK this summer was compiled by George Pell, owner of The Suffolk, in Aldeburgh, and L'Escargot, in London.

Here are his best places to try out in Suffolk this summer.

1. Husk, Thorington

Launching at Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival last summer, Husk was founded by Joey O'Hare and Katy Taylor and has quickly grown.

Husk hosts weekly supper clubs using foraged produce from the surrounding landscape.

There are also rooms available, and a booking platform coming soon.

Monthly menus are released on their website.

2. The Greyhound Inn, Pettistree

The Greyhound Inn opened in late 2022 and has been mentioned by The Sunday Times in the short time that it has been open.

Earlier this year it was named one of the 'best of the best' in the UK by OpenTable.

The inn is run by former ad man Will Orrock, interior designer fiancé Cassidy Hughes, chef Harry Mckenzie and wine buff George de Vos, all of who escaped London living to open a cosy county pub.

3. Sole Bay, Southwold

Sole Bay Fish Company has had a tough 2023 so far, with a huge fire destroying the property at Southwold harbour in May.

It has since risen from the ashes and has begun frying again.

The fish shop not only sells your run-of-the-mill chips and battered cod but also has a great selection of shellfish and oysters which can be enjoyed with a lovely view of the ferry crossing to Walberswick.

4. The Ramsholt Arms, River Deben

Whilst The Ramsholt Arms provides the perfect location to watch the sun go down over the River Deben, it also has an excellent reputation as a pub.

The seafood is a particular highlight, but the pub also hosts a barbecue at the weekends which is not to be missed.
