A Lowestoft pre-school that has the motto 'Protect, play and grow' is "going from strength to strength."
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of youngsters aged between two and five, staff, parents and youngsters at St Benedict's Pre-School expressed delight this week after they were praised by government education inspectors.
Following an Ofsted inspection that took place on May 23, the education regulator rated the pre-school – which is based at St Benedict's Church in Hollingsworth Road, Lowestoft – as 'good' in all areas.
It comes after the pre-school was previously rated as 'inadequate' during an inspection last November.
Delighted to have received the second overall highest grade, and gain the improved rating, Leanne Grant, pre-school leader, said: "We have always been a strong group.
"With a whole new committee this year, to get the good rating back within six months after we were rated inadequate on a technicality, it has made us even stronger.
"We are a stronger team moving forward from here - the setting is continuing to go from strength to strength."
With seven staff members overseeing sessions five days a week, youngsters can attend on mornings or afternoons, with full day sessional care offered on a Tuesday and Thursday starting from 9.15am until 3.45pm.
Morning sessions run from 9.15am until 12.15pm.
With spaces available for September, the pre school is able to cater for 30 children.
The Ofsted report said: "Children enjoy their time at this well-led pre-school.
"They build close and respectful bonds with the warm and engaging staff."
After setting up a food and clothing 'swap shop' to help parents, the report adds: "The driving ethos of respect and tireless support for children and their families is inspirational.
"Staff are acutely aware of the challenges faced by families and do everything they can to support them in raising their children safely."
Mrs Grant added: "We are really proud of the group and now have an additional outdoor area that we are looking to create a nature garden with fruit trees and planters for the children."
