Broadside bank holiday fun will roar back to a Suffolk park this month.

After the traditional August bank holiday bonanza returned with a new format last year, following an absence of two years, Lowestoft Lions Club has announced the fun day will return to Nicholas Everitt Park in Oulton Broad on August Bank Holiday Monday.

With a dinosaur roadshow, music from one of the UK’s top 1960s cover bands, two female solo singers, magic and children’s entertainers set to excite all, lead organiser for the Lions, Mark Lanham, said: "We trialled Lowestoft Lions charity family fun day as a daytime event running from 10am to 5pm last year and following positive feedback we have again put together an exciting fun programme of entertainment with something for all ages.

"We have kept our admission charges unchanged to encourage everyone to come along and support our special charity fundraiser - with seven hours of entertainment.

"Admission on the gate is £5 for adults and £2 for children (aged five to 15) with under 5s free.

"Around the main bandstand stage, we will have dinosaurs including a new Spinosaurus, the fab Austin Beats, magician Joshua Pickering, Kitty-May - fresh from performing at Latitude - and popular solo singer Coco.

"Meanwhile in a smaller performance area, children can watch Punch and Judy, explore the dinosaur sandpit to search for relics and be entertained with more magic and balloons."

The charity fundraiser will also include craft, charity and food stalls as well as a small funfair and starts at 10am with a meet and greet with costume characters - including two Ghostbusters, Spiderman and a princess.

The fun day finishes at 5pm when free to view powerboat racing will be presented by Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club.
