Do you fancy rubbing shoulders with Cinderella, the Ugly Sisters and Buttons?

That is the question being posed to young people by the Lowestoft Players as they launch a hunt for performers for their next pantomime.

The Lowestoft Players are seeking junior performers, aged between six and 16, for their 2024 pantomime, Cinderella.

Running at the Marina Theatre, Lowestoft in January, this will be the 55th pantomime performed by the society.

“We’ve staged Cinderella on nine previous occasions” said James Atkin, co-director of Cinderella.

“1968, 1976, 1983, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2005, 2012 and 2018.

"Cinderella is always a very popular choice for performers and our wonderful audiences.”

For next year's edition, Buttons, Cinderella and her two Ugly Sisters, along with a host of crazy characters will be taking theatre-goers on a "roller coaster ride of mayhem and madcap merriment".

It has become traditional for a pantomime to include junior performers, hence the search for talented and confident children for the production.

Junior roles are for those aged between six to 16 years, at the time of performing.

A good level of singing and being under 5’ 2" are the audition requirements.

Junior auditions will be held on Sunday, September 3 at the Players Theatre, Battery Green Road.
