A bid to extend a prominent holiday park will come under scrutiny today.

Plans to transform agricultural land in Pakefield, Lowestoft with an "extension of Pakefield Holiday Park" were delayed last month after councillors voted to visit the site.

Now, after the proposed scheme had been deferred for a site visit, East Suffolk Council's planning committee north will meet at Riverside, Lowestoft on Tuesday, September 12.

With plans - centring around "Extension of Pakefield Holiday Park to provide for the following development on land to the west of the park" - lodged by agents Savills (UK) Limited on behalf of Park Holidays UK Ltd, officers have once more recommended that councillors approve the scheme.

This includes "a new and improved access and main site entrance off the A12; new entrance and the NPPF, and as such the application is recommended for approval."
