Pakefield High School helps students achieve their ambitions

Pakefield High is a school where young people can develop their ambitions. You won’t find any gimmicks though – the school offers traditional academic values in a modern school building.

This means that teaching and learning is at the core of everything that happens to support students in achieving the highest standards in their education, behaviour and conduct.

The school’s curriculum provides opportunity, challenge and support including a focus on developing strong skills in literacy and numeracy.

Alongside lessons, the school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These
make use of the excellent sporting and performance facilities to develop individual interests and talents.

One of the key highlights at Pakefield is the high-quality pastoral support, care and guidance for each student. This ensures young people are able to reach their full potential and are prepared for their next stage in life as mature, responsible and thoughtful young adults.

Every member of staff at Pakefield has the highest ambitions and expectations for students. The clear behaviour policy clearly sets out a system of rewards and sanctions to promote excellent behaviour at all times and has been a real focus for the school over the past year.

Parents and carers are often worried that the frequent communication between home and primary school stops when students join high school. Pakefield High, however, knows that communication is essential to a strong home/school relationship.

A range of methods are used to keep in frequent contact with parents and carers, so they know what’s happening in school and how well their child is performing, including a weekly update from myself as the head of school.

Pakefield values parental engagement and offers traditional face-to-face parents’ evenings for all year groups, as well as an online platform which includes a chat feature with every teacher.

Choosing a secondary school for your child is a huge decision. The school’s upcoming open evening on Wednesday, September 27 from 6pm-8.30pm allows prospective students, along with their family, a chance to see the opportunities Pakefield is able to offer, and visitors will find staff and students who are exceptionally proud of their school.
