Students from a prominent dance school will make a welcome return to the stage next month - as they showcase their work for the first time since the pandemic.

The Louise Elizabeth School of Dance will be performing in Lowestoft for the first time since the Coronavirus outbreak, as their show, Let’s Dance, takes centre stage at the Players Theatre.

While many of the students are familiar with performing, they will return after a much longer break than expected - and for some this will be their first experience of being on stage in front of a live audience.

With The Louise Elizabeth School of Dance being in the town since 1988, it was founded by the dance school’s namesake and principal Louise Elizabeth Hebborn.

Miss Hebborn, affectionately known as Miss Louise, has been teaching all forms of dance for more than 33 years.

Originally from Leicester, Miss Louise moved to Lowestoft with her husband when he secured a new job in the area.

As a former member of the Lowestoft Players, Miss Louise has performed in many Lowestoft Players’ productions as well as choreographing musicals, Christmas Spectaculars and reviews for the society.

She said: "I’m very much looking forward to returning to the Players Theatre and bringing my dance school with me.

"We have 30 talented students with an age range of three to adult.

"With the show just a few weeks away the dancers are very excited!"

The Louise School of Dance has recently relocated to Blundeston from its previous base in Carlton Colville, with anyone wishing to join urged to watch the show to see the diversity of dance styles which the school offers.

Featuring extracts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and West End and Broadway Musicals, Let’s Dance will be performed at the Players Theatre in Lowestoft on Saturday, October 14 with shows at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.

Tickets are available from the Players Theatre box office, online or by calling 01502 770020.
