A bid to tackle street drinking and help reduce anti-social behaviour has been renewed in a coastal town.
New signage is now in place which advises people that drinking alcohol in public in "specific parts of Lowestoft" is prohibited.
With Lowestoft town centre being covered by a PSPO (public spaces protection order), it was introduced three years ago to help reduce anti-social behaviour.
As drinking alcohol within the restricted area of a PSPO is prohibited, a consultation was launched earlier this year as people were urged to have their say on the order to tackle street drinking being renewed.
The PSPO was previously in place for the Harbour ward in Lowestoft, which includes the town centre and High Street.
Now, the order - which helps to reduce anti-social behaviour by stopping people drinking alcohol in public spaces - has been renewed.
An East Suffolk Council spokesman said: "To help reduce anti-social behaviour, new signage is now in place advising people that drinking alcohol in public in specific parts of Lowestoft is prohibited.
"An existing Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) covering the Harbour ward and which aims to control anti-social drinking was renewed in October, following a review by Suffolk Police and a public consultation."
