The hunt to trace a man who allegedly strangled a teenage girl in a town centre has been closed.
Police issued an appeal for witnesses and information after a man grabbed the throat of a teenage girl causing her to struggle to breathe.
With the hunt for a man - described as being aged between 30 and 40 - launched, the assault happened not far away from the Greggs branch in London Road North, Lowestoft.
A man had approached a group of young people outside the store between 4.45pm and 5.05pm on Sunday, November 12 when trouble flared.
After the assault, the man - who is described as having fair hair and wore black clothing - walked away with another man and woman and headed towards the Joseph Conrad pub.
This week a police spokesman said: "All reasonable enquiries have been conducted and exhausted with no new leads established despite appeals.
"The case will be filed pending any new information that identifies a suspect."
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Lowestoft police via 101 quoting crime reference numbers 37/65917/23.
