The festive season may be over - but pantomime season is not!

In just a few days time the Lowestoft Players will return to the stage to perform their 56th annual pantomime.

The enchanting and magical story of Cinderella will be staged - and after more than three months of rehearsals, the talented cast are ready to tread the boards of the Marina Theatre in Lowestoft.

What promises to be an "entertaining production" - with popular songs performed alongside a live band, colourful costumes, amazing scenery and a stream of corny jokes - will be performed at the Marina Theatre from January 20 to January 28.

Nick Garrod, chair of the Lowestoft Players, said: "The exceptionally talented cast have been working so hard in rehearsals to make sure that this will be a pantomime to remember.

"They will be on stage for nine performances.

"That’s quite a commitment as most already have full time jobs.

"I really hope that the people of Lowestoft and beyond will support this panto – they won’t be disappointed."

Taking on some of the leading roles are primary school teacher Bethan Roscoe, who will play Cinderella.

A spokesman said: "Although Bethan has taken to the stage with The Lowestoft Players on many previous occasions, this is her debut leading lady role with the popular performing society."

Alexander Bracey - new to Lowestoft and The Players - will take on the role of Buttons.
