A well-established monthly market is set to make a welcome return this weekend with organisers unveiling plans to grow bigger and better.

Returning for a second year with its first event of the year in Lowestoft, East Point Markets will be back this Saturday, January 27.

East Point Markets has brought a wide range of handmade crafts, handcrafted jewellery, local produce and much more to the Coastal Cuisine site in Lowestoft since launching in May last year.

With the markets being held on the last Saturday of each month, this weekend's event "marks the start of our markets for 2024" with the monthly farmers and makers market.

It will take centre stage this Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Coastal Cuisine Ltd on Hadenham Road, on the south Lowestoft industrial estate.

Organiser Michael Fairhurst said: "We are delighted to be returning to Coastal Cuisine for a second year with our markets, with their fresh fish and seafood counter, own butchers sausages, pet supplies and much more.

"They give us an excellent base for our markets and we have been busy adding more new stalls for 2024.

"We are looking forward to the year ahead, working with Coastal Cuisine and Farmhouse Kitchen, with different themed market events."

Organisers said this would include a special first anniversary event as well as a fundraising market fun day to help raise funds for Fritton Owl Sanctuary.

Mr Fairhurst added: "While we would love as many people to come and support the stallholders at our markets, Coastal Cuisine and Farmhouse Kitchen are open six days a week - with daily specials."
