Thirty Nine’s Barber Shop to open in Hervey Street Lowestoft

After being sold at auction in December for £33,500 - above its expected guide price - the vacant hairdresser/barber shop on Hervey Street in Lowestoft has undergone a "huge renovation" over the past three months.

With new owners, and a new name, Thirty Nine’s Barber Shop will open it's doors on Monday, March 18 at 39 Hervey Street in Lowestoft.

Having previously been in the same ownership for around 30 years, the lock up barber shop has a new tenant.

Tyler Drury, 27, has taken over what used to be Mark's barber shop and said it has been "renovated into a beautiful rustic state" that "looks fantastic."

Mr Drury said: "We will be opening on March 18 with an opening introductory offer of £10 any cut for the first week.

"I worked at a barbers shop in town - Hair for Men - for the last 10 years after doing my apprenticeship previously at Reddz.

"It has been a great start off for me - building a nice client base, but after seeing the shop up for auction one of my friends bought it.

"We thought it was an amazing location - a well established business - and it seemed like a great start up shop for me, a perfect size.

"It has been quite a significant investment for Josh - JB Brickwork - the owner, and I am his tenant.

"He has done an amazing job."

Mr Drury added: "It has undergone a huge renovation as the building was a bit rundown.

"But now outside it has new cladding and inside a full refurbishment, full rewiring with a CCTV system, smoke alarm, plastering, panelling, new flooring, a brand new toilet and a few stylish updates.

"We will be open six days a week - closed on Sunday's - and we're a walk in barbers, with no appointment necessary.

"From the age of 13 I had a massive interest in barbering.

"It was something that I always wanted to do as I was growing up and finally feel I have achieved something now."
