A circular saw, drills and power tools were among the items stolen during a spate of thefts from vans.

Police are seeking witnesses and are appealing for information in connection with the break-ins after tools were stolen from vans during a spate of thefts in Lowestoft at the weekend.

An unknown person broke into a van parked on St Margaret's Road and conducted a search at some time between 4pm on Saturday, March 16 and 11am on Sunday, March 17.

Various drills and a circular saw/jigsaw were stolen.

Tools were stolen as entry was gained to a transit van parked outside a home on Payne Street in Lowestoft between 4pm last Friday and 1pm on Sunday, March 17.

A transit van parked on Winnipeg Road in Lowestoft was broken into and power tools were stolen at sometime between last Friday and Monday, March 18.

Netting was removed from a flatbed vehicle parked on a car park in Blyford Road, Lowestoft at some time between 7pm on Saturday, March 16 and 10.15am on Sunday.

A police spokesman said: "A lock box was entered and saws and a drill were stolen.

"An attempt to enter via the drivers door was also made, although no entry was gained."

The rear door lock of a van parked on Marlborough Road in Lowestoft was damaged during an attempted break-in.

It happened between 10am on Saturday and 7am on Monday, March 18 although no entry was gained.
