A woman is retiring after 50 years of service for a company near Ipswich, looking back on her time with "fond memories".

Dee Potter has been working at Celestion Loudspeakers since 1974, starting when she was just 16 years old after leaving school, with her mum getting her the job having also worked at the company.

Now at the age of 66, she is retiring after working in various departments in the company.

She said: "I've loved it, loved every minute of it truth be known.

"I don't want go but there you are.

"The team we have here now is great, and I look back fondly over my time here."

Celestion started operations at Foxhall Road in Ipswich, but moved to Claydon Business Park in Great Blakenham 20 years ago.

She said: "Since we moved here, I've had the happiest of work lives.

"I just love working here.

"The biggest highlight of my career is probably going from a name in the marketplace which wasn't too well known, to going to one that makes the best speakers in the world.

"That is a great accolade to have, so that would be the highlight of my career, seeing the company grow and being part of that growth.

"I have loved my time here, enjoyed working with everyone, and that is what has kept me in the job for so long."

Miss Potter leaves after 50 years, working across a variety of areas, including admin and production management.

She continued: "My mum is now 91, so she needs a bit more help so will help her, and I have a sister who I will also help.

"I wish everyone here the best and I hope they can carry on the legacy created."
