A 34ft yacht was towed to safety after stalling out at sea.

RNLI spokesman Audrey Smith said: "Following a call from the UK Coastguard, Cromer's all-weather lifeboat, Lester was launched to a report of problems on the Walrus yacht, which was seven miles from Cromer.

"Lester was launched at 5.48pm on Monday, July 15 and the yacht was towed to Wells."

Wells lifeboat spokesman John Mitchell said: "Walrus was going from Wells to Lowestoft when a rope got caught around her propeller causing her to stall. "The yacht, with two on board, tried to sail to safety but was becalmed in light airs.

"After trying for two hours to make way, the crew called for help.

"Cromer lifeboat towed them back to Wells where the yacht anchored overnight in Holkham Bay. Then, at 5.30am on Tuesday, July 16, Wells all-weather lifeboat launched and towed the yacht into the outer harbour."
