At Norfolk winemakers annual show, held recently at Hethersett, Len Allen won three firsts, one second and two third places, and Beryl Rooke got one first, five seconds and two third places. Tickets are on sale for the Halloween dance on October 31 at Kessingland Community Centre, dancing is to Tony Bryant, fancy dress is encouraged. The chairman reminded everyone that it is the annual show next month. Entry forms are available. Details of the Christmas meal were announced, to be held at the Masonic Hall on December 9. The speaker Mr Meadows, gave a talk about his time as a pharmacist at Boots chemist, which everyone enjoye, and there were some very amusing anecdotes, the chairman gave a vote of thanks and also a bottle of club wine. Sheila and Beryl and Peter and John thanked club members who had come to their golden wedding and sapphire wedding anniversaries, and that the donation box had been opened and they were pleased to announce that the sum of �510 had been raised to be split between three charities, Meningitis Trust, Coeliac UK and Perthes Disease, which had affected their families.
