ON behalf of the Suffolk Deaf Association may we say a huge thank you to the kind people of Lowestoft who supported us on Saturday, December 8, in Lowestoft High Street with our annual Christmas street collection.

Apart from our main aims to promote deaf awareness and the deaf community, a super £672 was raised.

Despite the cold and the rain, great interest and warming comments were received regarding the performances by the Lowestoft Signing Choir.

As always volunteers were ready with information regarding deafness, related issues, clubs and events provided at the Centre for Deaf People, Blackheath Road, which welcomes all ages of people with any degree of hearing loss or related conditions.

Our sincere thanks to Elizabeth Betts and the Lowestoft Signing Choir. For more information or to book the choir telephone 07980 359985 and for information regarding clubs or events at the Centre for Deaf People contact Colleen Hemp on 07747 533717
