Appeal for witnesses to fatal Lowestoft crash
ANNIVERSARY checks and a police reconstruction have been carried out at the scene of a fatal crash in Lowestoft, which led to a woman being arrested on suspicion of murder.
The investigations follow the death of 30-year-old Anthony Michael Knox, who suffered fatal injuries in collision with a blue Renault Scenic in Woods Loke East on Tuesday, September 21.
Mr Knox, a married man with children, from Lowestoft, was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston with serious injuries following the incident but later died.
A 25-year-old woman – who is known to Mr Knox – was later arrested on suspicion of murder and she remains on police bail until November 3 pending further inquiries.
Detectives and forensics experts visited the scene of the collision in Woods Loke East last Thursday to carry out the reconstruction, and on Tuesday evening, police patrols were carried out at the site.

A police spokesman said this week that the reconstruction was primarily for forensic checks, and the anniversary checks – carried out between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday – were to seek witnesses to the crash, which happened not far from the junction with Fir Lane and Oulton Road.
'Officers were at the scene last Thursday to carry out a reconstruction of the collision in a bid to gather further evidence,' police spokesman Anne-Marie Breach told The Journal. 'The anniversary checks on Tuesday saw police speak to a number of people during the times officers were present, although it appears no new witnesses have been found as a result of these.'

A post mortem examination has revealed that Mr Knox, who hails from Balby, in Doncaster, and came to live locally in the past couple of years, died of serious injuries sustained in the crash.

Detectives yesterday issued a further appeal for witnesses and information on the collision.
'We are continuing to ask anyone who was in the area of Woods Loke East, near to the mini roundabout at the Norman Warrior public house – either in the pub, in Woods Loke West, Oulton Road, or Fir Lane – between 5.30pm and 6pm who may have seen the car prior to the collision, the collision itself or the immediate aftermath, to come forward,' Ms Breach said.
