Armed police were called to Lowestoft last night after reports of a person carrying a gun.

Suffolk Police were alerted to the incident at 5.35pm on Sunday, February 24, on Kimberley Road, Lowestoft.

Armed officers attended and requested a car to stop nearby on Britten Road shortly afterwards.

The driver stopped the car and checks were carried out.

Officers found an airgun, but it had not been fired and no offences had been committed, a spokesman for Suffolk Police confirmed.
