The man was arrested at an address in the town this morning following a robbery in which a shop assistant was pushed to the ground in Kerry's mini market in Stanley Street on Sunday October 26.

Two men wearing motorcycle helmets walked into the shop and demanded cash. The woman shop assistant was then pushed to the ground and the robbers grabbed money from the till before making off on a white trials bike at just before 9pm.

The bike, which was stolen from close to the Royal Mail sorting office at Barnards Way on October 16, was recovered from a wooded area at Peto Way the morning after the robbery.

The 20-year-old is currently in custody at Lowestoft police station where he will be interviewed by officers.
