Two men robbed a convenience store in Kessingland on Saturday afternoon.

Two men entered the Costcutters shop at about 5.15pm, pointed what appeared to be a handgun at staff and stole a quantity of cash. No one was hurt.

The police were immediately alerted, and a search by local officers resulted in a vehicle being located and followed. The force helicopter and armed officers joined the search and two men - who are aged 47 and 23 and are from the Wickham Market area - were arrested.

The men were taken to Lowestoft police station to be interviewed by officers.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time. They are particularly keen to trace the driver of a vehicle similar to a flat bed lorry or van and a dog walker who were both seen on CCTV at the time and who may have seen something which can help with enquiries.

Anyone with information should contact Lowestoft police on 01986 835300.
