Arsonists put accelerant through door of Lowestoft home

POLICE are seeking witnesses after arsonists tried to set light to a door at a home in Lowestoft.

Around 5.30am on Saturday (January 1) the occupant of the property in Britten Road went into his hallway and noticed smoke. The fire had already gone out but it was inspected by the fire service and it appears someone had put an accelerant through the door.

The letterbox was melted in the incident.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area in the early hours, or anyone with information about the person responsible, to call DC 1149 Davey at Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300.
