ARSONISTS ignited a plastic bag and its contents and then attempted to put it through the letterbox of a home in Lowestoft.

Police are seeking witnesses and are treating the incident as arson after a home in Britten Road was targeted on Sunday (February 20).

“The incident was reported to officers yesterday morning, Monday, after the householder noticed burnt paper on the internal doormat and hallway,” a police spokesman said. “She then looked outside and found the burnt bag lying in the garden.”

• Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or anyone with information about who tried to push the bag through the letterbox should call PC 1529 Colbridge on 01986 835300.
