Assault victim recovering

A man who was badly hurt during an attack in Lowestoft town centre is making a good recovery in hospital, police said last night.

The 36-year-old victim was thought to be in a serious condition when he was taken to the James Paget Univ-ersity Hospital, in Gorleston, but a police spokesman said the injuries were not as bad as first thought.

The 36-year-old victim was thought to be in a serious condition when he was taken to the James Paget Univ-ersity Hospital, in Gorleston, but a police spokesman said the injuries were not as bad as first thought.

He was found unconscious in Albany Road, off High Street, at about 3.30am on Sunday and inquiries led to witness accounts that a man was seen being attacked by two men in the High Street area at about 2.30am.
