FLOWERS IN BLOOM: With the sea in the background and an array of colourful poppies dominating the image, an amateur photographer from Oulton Broad has been named as our Picture of the Week winner by capturing this fine snapshot.

The picture was taken in Southwold by Jenny Bird, of Harrier Drive, Oulton Broad, while she took part in a treasure hunt with friends. A delighted Ms Bird, who has now won our competition for the second time, said that the picture was taken on her mobile phone as she 'walked past the beautiful display of poppies on the cliff top'. 'We were on a treasure hunt just wandering around really and the flowers just caught my eye,' she said. 'We were having a really lovely day and Southwold is one of the best places to visit anyway. 'I just took a quick picture and made sure I got in a bit of everything including the countryside and seaside. I am overwhelmed to have won.' As our winner, Ms Bird receives a 12in x 10in framed version of her photo, worth more than £60, from Picture Studios, of London Road North, Lowestoft.

By progressing to our next six-monthly winners' final, she is also in with a shout of winning the top prize – a 12in x 18in photo block, worth £130. Entries can be of any subject, but they must be by amateur photographers and we prefer digital images. We also accept prints but we cannot guarantee their return. Email us your pictures, along with your details and daytime phone number (and mobile number too if possible) to: lowestoft.journal@archant.co.uk, putting Picture of the Week in the subject box.
