The most easterly ring of bells in the British Isles proudly rang out on Wednesday evening (September 9) at St Margaret's Church, in Lowestoft, in tribute to the Queen – as she became our longest-serving monarch.
Eight ringers assembled to celebrate this occasion by ringing a quarter peal of 1,260 changes of Grandsire Triples, which took 45 minutes of continuous ringing to complete.
The ringers were Andrew Leach, Craig Leach, Charlotte Ellis, Michael Stokes, Elizabeth Allen, Diana Leach, David McLean (conductor) and Peter Bradnam.
