I AM writing in regard to Belvedere Road and when one lane north is in operation.Each lane should have its own set of lights with alternate green phasing; there should be no lane changing close to the lights; heavy goods vehicles should be directed to the inside lane.
I AM writing in regard to Belvedere Road and when one lane north is in operation.
Each lane should have its own set of lights with alternate green phasing; there should be no lane changing close to the lights; heavy goods vehicles should be directed to the inside lane.
Lanes will have a different pace due to the random holdups downstream but this could be corrected by counting-sensors in the road and adjustment made as necessary (the Ipswich computer could sort this out).
All that would be required would be for motorists to merge onto the back of the shortest queue.
