An application for Interreg Project funding for cross-border initiatives has been made in conjunction with national parks in Holland and Belgium.

The money would fund an investigation into options for small-scale camping and simple barn accommodation for visitors such as canoeists and allow investment in new moorings in remote locations, electric charging points for boats and footpath viewpoints.

It would also pay for work on developing the Broads brand, rolling out the quality charter for eating out and establishing a local programme for the green tourism business scheme.

Funding would also permit improved visitor facilities and the development of computerised interpretation displays at key sites, such as How Hill.
