The darts team were congratulated and presented with certificates on being the runners-up in the Federation Darts competition. The team were, Margaret Boyce, Grace Edwards, Joan Edwards and Nancy Gillings, and as usual the double one proved very difficult for both teams with Earl Soham eventually being awarded the trophy.

There was no speaker as May is traditionally the month to debate the WI resolution to be debated at the annual meeting. There was only one resolution this year asking the government to provide additional funding into the problems of bee keeping and the general decline in the bee population. After discussion this was carried unanimously and the vote will be taken to the annual meeting by this year's delegate from Lowestoft Evening WI. The evening concluded with a wine and cheese supper. Members were reminded of the ready steady cook evening on June 16, at 7.30pm.
