Women's Institute - Some 80 members and friends met at Blundeston Village Hall for Blundeston's version of Ready Steady Cook. Unfortunately the commentator Candeed Peel was unable to attend and Jenny Fern took her place.

Women's Institute - Some 80 members and friends met at Blundeston Village Hall for Blundeston's version of Ready Steady Cook. Unfortunately the commentator Candeed Peel was unable to attend and Jenny Fern took her place. The four cooks taking part were: Pam George, Pam Chatters, Rosemarie Page and Cynthia Tompson. Each were given a bag of ingredients and had to produce at least a two course meal in 30 minutes. Each cook had an assistant and two cooks competed at a time. Three of the meals contained salmon, the other beefsteak, noodles were popular but the meals themselves were varied. Red and green cards were given to the audience who voted for the winning meal.

Local history - Twenty members of the society visited the Nelson monument at Great Yarmouth on Wednesday evening. Most climbed to the top and enjoyed the view. Two members of staff explained the history of the monument and told the stories of many of Nelson's battles.

The last outing of this season is to Dunwich on Wednesday, July 15.
