A popular annual event attracted the crowds as centenaries were celebrated in style.
The weather was kind over the weekend as organisers hailed the success of the annual flower festival and teddy bear parachuting bonanza at St Mary the Virgin Church in Blundeston.
With the theme of this year’s flower festival being centenaries – women getting the vote, the founding of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the end of the First World War – the anniversaries were marked in style. A spokesman said: “The floral interpretation of the flowers showed great imagination and the church looked a picture. On both days weather conditions favoured the smaller teddies who parachuted and drifted gracefully to the ground to be collected by the Blundeston Beavers and Scouts and returned to the teddy doctor for medical inspection before collecting their certificates.”
Refreshments and stalls were kept busy throughout the weekend and the festival concluded with a songs of praise service.
