A scout group that was disbanded during the war has just celebrated a milestone after reforming.
The 1st Blundeston and Flixton group was disbanded in 1943 but at a celebration at their current headquarters in Blundeston Village Hall the group marked a decade since its rebirth.
Group scout leader Mark Green said: “After a gap of several years, interest in scouting in the area increased and a scout group was restarted in 2006 at Oulton Village Hall and was called 2nd Oulton Broad.
“But after two years it was decided to relocate to Blundeston and rename the group. The new unit maintained links with the original wartime group by keeping the same colour neckerchief.”
The group has continued to thrive and family members were recently invited to a barbecue to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 1st Blundeston. To mark the occasion, all members of the group were given a blanket badge designed by Cub Max Riches and Scout Lucy Dixon.
