A BODY was found on a beach near Lowestoft last night and police are investigating the possibility it may be a woman who disappeared earlier this week.
The discovery was made at 7pm when the coastguard reported to police that they had found a body in bushes at the back of the beach by Pakefield Cliffs, near Arbor Lane.
A police spokesman confirmed that officers were looking into the possibility that the body may be that of missing Kettering woman Joyce Parker, 83, who went missing in Lowestoft at 11am on Tuesday.
The spokesman said: 'As is standard procedure, police are treating the death as unexplained at this time, but at this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
A post mortem examination will be conducted in due course.' Anyone with any information should contact the duty inspector at Lowestoft Police Station on 01986 835300.
