Residents at a care home got into the Christmas spirit after being visited by a group of nursery children.

A number of youngsters from Brambles Nursery in Reydon took a trip to Pitches View care home for the afternoon on December 6.

The festivities got under way with the children singing some of their favourite Christmas songs and inviting the residents to join in, before handing out mince pies that they had made themselves.

Staff from the nursery then accompanied the children, aged two to four-years-old, as they met the residents for a chat, and the afternoon concluded with one of the nursery's favourite Christmas stories.

The group also presented the care home with a card and decorations, and in turn the home presented all of the children with a gift.

Brambles Nursery is hoping to enjoy regular visits to the home and to participate in joint activities with the residents in the new year.
