Branch crashes on to van on A12

A YOUNG man has been taken to hospital after a tree branch crashed through the windscreen of his van in a freak accident.

The 24-year-old was sitting in his van on a break from work in a lay-by on the A12 at Frostenden shortly before 2pm today when a tree branched crashed through the windscreen.

The 24-year-old was sitting in his van on a break from work in a lay-by on the A12 at Frostenden shortly before 2pm today when a tree branched crashed through the windscreen.

A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the victim suffered injuries to his neck and chest and was taken to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
