Hundreds of brave teddy bears have been jumping for joy an annual festival where parachutes were attached to the toys as they made their descent from the top of St Mary the Virgin Church in Blundeston.
Children beamed with excitement as their bears were registered, given a number and sent to the summit in small baskets. After the parachutes were attached, the bears were launched from the church roof, in rainy conditions, some making the journey down to the ground more gracefully than others.
Notably, if a child deemed their teddy too scared to embark on the jump, a stunt bear could be sent up in its place.
The event, which has been running for the past 17 years, also coincided with the flower festival and this year's theme of Alice in Wonderland, marking the 150th anniversary since the book was published.
Churchwarden Barbara Shaw said: 'The children really enjoy it and it draws people into the flower festival as well. We really enjoy the event but we don't like getting wet.'
Fellow churchwarden Iris Mayes added: 'We still love putting on this event and it is just wonderful to see the children's faces when their bears come down.'
