THE A12 Bascule Bridge in Lowestoft will be closed overnight tomorrow, Wednesday, January 9 from 8pm to 6am.
Further overnight closures are planned for Wednesday, January 16, Tuesday, January 22, Wednesday, January 23, Tuesday, February 5, Wednesday, February 6, Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13.
All closures will be between 8pm and 6am when traffic flows are lowest and to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents.
These closures are to allow for preparatory works ahead of the programme of daytime closures necessary to complete the £2.3m refurbishment of the bridge.
A temporary footbridge is in place next to the Bascule Bridge to allow pedestrians, the disabled, and dismounted cyclists to cross Lake Lothing.
Advanced signing and a signed diversion route will be in place for motorised vehicles.
