A Brownie and Guide Unit working towards their garden design badge have put their skills to good use by sprucing up the garden at Oulton Park Care Home.

On Saturday, May 16, six 3rd Oulton Brownies and two Guides lent a hand at the home on Union Road in Oulton Broad.

The Brownies had each designed a garden, and assistant leader Gemma Hatton picked something from each of the designs to feature at Oulton Park.

They added solar lights so it could be used day and night and scented plants for the residents to smell.

But there is still more work to be done, so the unit will be returning to finish their work in the coming weeks.

Mrs Hatton said: “I’m really proud of them and it was great to see their designs come to life.

“They were quite happy to dive into the soil!

“We also had a few parents and grandparents who stayed to help as well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
