TWO shotguns and a 42-inch plasma screen TV were among the items stolen after burglars raided a home in Lowestoft.

A mobile phone, a laptop computer, a gold chain, a wristwatch, a games console and games, a digital camera and an iPod were also taken in the break-in at

Walmer Road between 5pm and 9pm on Saturday (December 18).

Detectives this week renewed pleas for residents not to leave their homes all in darkness. 'If you are going to be out of your home after 3pm please leave a light or two on, or better still put your lights on a timer,' a police spokesman said. 'Please call 999 immediately if you see or hear anything unusual – including anyone carrying a large TV or if you hear breaking glass.'

• Police are asking anyone who may have been in the Walmer Road/Blackheath Road area on Saturday evening to call DC 914 Brotherston at Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300 if you saw anything suspicious or if you have any information about who took the items, or where they are now.
