Busy afternoon for Lowestoft fire crews

Fire fighters were called to a large pile of rubbish which was alight in a playground in Carlton Colville on Saturday afternoon.

The fire crew from Clifton Road attended the fire off Swallowfields just before 2.

Fire fighters were called to a large pile of rubbish which was alight in a playground in Carlton Colville on Saturday afternoon.

The fire crew from Clifton Road attended the fire off Swallowfields just before 2.30pm and the fire was put out within about 15 minutes.

At 2.45pm, two crews from Normanshurst were called to a fire in a disused railway carriage on Church Lane. The carriage was well alight but fire fighters had put out the flames by 3.28pm.
