A STUDENT from Saint Felix School, Reydon, has won an educational scholarship, after entering a competition held by risk manage-ment and insurance brokers Willis Group Holdings.

The competition was based on the theme, 'Who would you insure and why?', and 11-year-old Caitlin Dobson chose the role of the volunteers and the employees of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as the subject for her

entry.

Caitlin, pictured, said she was delighted to win the scholarship, adding: 'I was really shocked. Because I had submitted my entry such a long time ago I just assumed I hadn't been successful.

'I chose to write about insuring the RNLI because where I live, we often hear the rescue helicopters fly over and hear stories about RNLI rescues. I also know someone who works for them. Their work involves so many different roles, I chose to write about insuring all the various positions.'

She continued: 'My parents are looking after my grant for me at the moment, but next summer I want to go on a science course at the University of East Anglia. It's made up of lectures and hands-on projects, and I want to become either a teacher or a scientist when I'm older so the course would help me.'

Each year, Willis Group Holdings offers the opportunity for the children of their associates to enter the competition to win one of 14 educational scholarships.

In addition to the opportunity of having her work showcased on the walls of the Willis offices around the world, Caitlin will receive funding from Willis over the next three years in order to support her educational studies.
