A giant cup cake, chocolate cakes and even a cake based on a popular children's television character.
They were just some of the delights, which tempted visitors to a popular fundraising charity event.
Cake lovers were spoilt for choice with the range of delicious baked delights on offer as the fundraiser was held in memory of a popular little boy.
The Ollie's Heroes charity - which is raising money to support children and families who are fighting cancer in East Anglia by helping them with the costs of living and travelling to hospital – was set up by Jamie and Claire Gray, from Oulton, after their son Ollie died in September 2015 following a five-year battle against acute lymphatic leukaemia.
Ollie's Heroes second cake sale was held last Saturday at Carlton Colville Community Centre. With Ollie's parents Jamie and Claire overseeing the event, fellow organiser and family friend Linda Grainge, spoke on behalf of the charity.
Mrs Grainge said: 'Cakes were donated by friends and family and from WaterLane Leisure Centre café. One or two specials cakes, which were too good for the general sale, were auctioned instead. These included a Mr Tumble cake, which is based on Ollie's favourite character, an impressive chocolate cake and a giant cup cake with a topping of the Ollie's Heroes logo design.'
With about 700 segments of cake available, the event was another 'brilliant' success – with the amount raised topping last year's total.
Mrs Grainge said: 'The grand total raised was £3,641.07 and it is quite overwhelming that people made and donated so many cakes – you don't expect that. To see it so busy again was just brilliant.'
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the many local companies who gave their support, including Asda who donated many of the refreshments.
'The whole idea of the charity is to support families of children who are going through the same battle with cancer,' Mrs Grainge added. 'We have already been able to help another little boy, who had not long finished his bone marrow treatment. He is also known to the family because he was in hospital the same time as Ollie.'
