Police received 40 per cent more 999 calls than average on one of the busiest nights of the year for emergency services in Suffolk.
The constabulary dealt with 355 emergency calls in its control room over 24 hours, compared to an average day's volume of 252.
The larger than average volume accounted for a period between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
From 10pm on New Year's Eve to 7am on New Year's Day, 50 calls required urgent 'Grade A' responses.
Police said most of the offences dealt with overnight related to public order or domestic disturbance.
A total of 30 people were taken into custody across the county.
