THE funeral service took place at St Peter's Church, Carlton Colville, followed by burial in the cemetery on Monday, November 26 for Captain Walter Stephen Gilding (ex Royal Norfolk Regiment), who died on November 12, aged 88.

THE funeral service took place at St Peter's Church, Carlton Colville, followed by burial in the cemetery on Monday, November 26 for Captain Walter Stephen Gilding (ex Royal Norfolk Regiment), who died on November 12, aged 88.

The Rev Jeremy Bishop officiated.

Mourners were, Mr and Mrs B Ames (daughter and son-in-law), Mrs K Freestone (daughter), Mr Don Cole, Mrs T Yarrow (granddaughter), Miss J Ames (granddaughter), Mr C Cole (grandson), Mrs A Brown (sister-in-law), Mr Sam Cole, Mr and Mrs M Rye (sister) and Paul, Mr and Mrs Andrew Stanley and Robert, Olive Solomon (also representing Solomon family and Ian Solomon), Michael Cole (Shirley Cole and family), Mrs P Long, Mr and Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Betty Palmer (also representing Mr Alan Howard), Barbara and Isaac Solomon, Mr Andrew Fisher (Lorna Fisher and Mr L Fisher), Tony and Robina Cropley, Mr P Hawkes (Burma Star Association), Mrs Marian Reeder (Mr John Reeder), Mrs Beryl Capps, Davinia Hughes, Mrs K Shipley, M Ruffles (S Ruffles), Mr and Mrs Ron Carver, A Shears.

The family of Captain Walter Stephen Gilding wish to thank all relatives and friends for their many kind expressions of sympathy and beautiful floral tributes received.

Special thanks to Rev Jeremy Bishop for a very special service, all the staff at The Dell, Beccles for all their kindness and caring and Rivett's for so much help and kindness.
