The Suffolk SportsAid Foundation received 690 raised at the Destination Suffolk 2010 tourism conference in Ipswich last month which featured Olympic silver medal winner Steve Cram as guest speaker.
The event was hosted by Choose Suffolk whose chief executive Celia Hodson said: 'We're thrilled to have raised this money for such a worthwhile organisation that plays an essential role in helping our county's young sportsmen and women.'
The Suffolk SportsAid Foundation has now awarded over 50 grants to support the development of the county's leading athletes, all of whom are competing at either national or international level.
